Call for submissions – BIFF ‘07

We are pleased to announce that the submission for the 9th bfm International Film Festival (BIFF) is now open!

BIFF ‘07 will take place in London, Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester from September through to October 2007.

We are looking for submissions from filmmakers of Black origin from around the globe.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE – 18th May 2007

*CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS*

BBC Film Network, Electric Proms and New Talent are challenging filmmakers to make original new films inspired by new music tracks.

You'll get to work with Warp Films and up to £5,000 to make your film, which will be premiered at the BBC Electric Proms in October, and showcased online at BBC Film Network.

Leading independent record labels Ninja Tune, 679, Warp and Domino have provided tracks from their latest releases including The Cinematic Orchestra, King Creosote, Wiley, The Earlies, Gravenhurst, Lightspeed Champion and James Yorkston. We want you to submit creative ideas for films that either use, or are inspired by these tracks.

This could be anything from a music promo, moving visual images, a short drama or even a documentary.

A theme for the programme will be assigned from the films submitted. Please submit films in dvd or mini-dv format, with your contact details to the address below. Only those filmmakers whose work is selected will be contacted. If you would like us to return your film, please supply a
